Beipackzettel ansehen

Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray 1 mg/spray is a medicine for the relief of nicotine withdrawal symptoms, including the craving to smoke, i.e. the discomfort that occurs when you stop smoking. With NFC chip.

Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray is used to help you quit smoking if you want to stop smoking immediately or to help you reduce your cigarette consumption (smoking reduction) in order to achieve complete smoking cessation. This is a type of treatment known as nicotine replacement therapy.

Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray relieves the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, including the urge to smoke, i.e. the discomfort that occurs when you stop smoking. If you suddenly stop supplying your body with nicotine by smoking tobacco, you may experience unpleasant sensations known as withdrawal symptoms. By using Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray, you can alleviate or completely prevent these unpleasant sensations and the urge to smoke. This is because you continue to supply your body with a small amount of nicotine over a short period of time. Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray contains no tar, carbon monoxide or other toxins found in cigarette smoke.

Directions for use

Children and adolescents under the age of 18 must not use Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray.

Seek advice from your doctor if you have not been able to reduce the number of sprays used or your cigarette consumption after 6 weeks or if you need to use Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray for longer than 6 months. You should normally use Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray for 3 months, but not longer than 6 months.

The instructions for using Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray depend on whether you want to stop smoking immediately or gradually reduce the number of cigarettes smoked before quitting completely.

Smoking cessation with immediate smoking cessation

The aim is to stop smoking immediately and use the spray to reduce the urge to smoke.

Do not use more than 2 sprays in a row or 4 sprays per hour over 16 hours. Over a 24-hour period, the maximum dose is 64 sprays in any 16-hour period.

  • Step 1: Weeks 1 to 6 Apply 1 or 2 sprays when you would normally smoke a cigarette or when you have the urge to smoke. Apply one spray first. If this does not reduce your craving within a few minutes, apply the second spray. If 2 sprays are required, 2 sprays can be used consecutively on subsequent applications. Most smokers need 1 or 2 sprays every 30 to 60 minutes. For example, if you smoke 15 cigarettes a day, you should apply 1 or 2 sprays at least 15 times during the day.
  • Step 2: Weeks 7 to 9 Start to reduce the number of sprays per day and by the end of week 9 you should only be using HALF the average number of sprays per day used in step I.
  • Step 3: Weeks 10 to 12 Continue to reduce the number of sprays per day so that by week 12 you are using no more than 4 sprays per day. When you have reduced the number of sprays to 2 to 4 sprays per day, you should stop using Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray.

Smoking reduction with subsequent smoking cessation

The aim is to gradually replace some of your cigarettes with Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray. Once this has been achieved, you can then give up cigarettes completely with the help of the spray. Finally, give up using the spray.

If you feel a strong urge to smoke, use 1 to 2 sprays of the spray instead of a cigarette to satisfy your craving. The spray is intended to replace a cigarette: Therefore, do not smoke shortly after using the spray. Using the spray without reducing the number of cigarettes smoked will lead to nausea (see section "If you have used more Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray than you should"). Reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke per day as much as possible and replace them with a spray. If after 6 weeks you have not been able to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke per day, speak to a doctor. As soon as you feel able to do so, but no later than 12 weeks after starting treatment, you should stop smoking altogether. Once you have stopped smoking, gradually reduce the number of sprays you use each day. As soon as you only need 2 to 4 sprays per day, you should stop using Nicorette Fruit & Mint Spray altogether.

Do not use more than 2 sprays in a row or 4 sprays per hour over 16 hours. Over a 24-hour period, the maximum dose is 64 sprays in any 16-hour period.

After finishing the treatment, you may be tempted to smoke again. Therefore, keep any unused spray, as the urge to smoke may occur suddenly. If you feel the urge to smoke, use one or two sprays if one spray does not help within a few minutes.

Open the dispenser:

  • Push the button (a) downwards with your thumb until it can be pressed inwards slightly (b). Do not press too hard.
  • While pressing inwards, push the top part of the dispenser upwards at the same time (c) to unlock it. Then release the button.

Make the dispenser ready for use:

If you are using the oral spray for the first time, you must first prepare the spray pump for use. Hold the spray nozzle at a safe distance from yourself, other adults, children or pets in your vicinity. Press the top of the dispenser three times with your index finger until a fine spray mist comes out. If you have not used the spray for 2 days, you will need to repeat this process.

Using the dispenser:

  • Point the spray nozzle at your open mouth and hold it as close to your mouth as possible.
  • Press firmly on the top of the dispenser to release a spray into your mouth. Avoid wetting your lips when doing so. To prevent the spray from entering your throat, do not inhale while spraying. For best results, do not swallow for a few seconds after spraying.

Locking the spray nozzle

Close the dispenser:

  • Slide the button downwards (d) until it can be pressed inwards (e).
  • When pressing inwards, push the top part of the dispenser downwards (f). Release the button. The dispenser is now closed. To spray again, repeat the steps described above.

Close the dispenser after each use to prevent the dispenser from being used by children and to prevent accidental spraying. Take care not to spray anything into the eyes while using the spray. If spray gets into the eyes, rinse the eyes thoroughly with water.
