Mexalen® 500 mg tablets are an over-the-counter medicine containing the active ingredient paracetamol. They are suitable for use in cases of mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, period pain) and fever.
Mexalen® 500 mg tablets are used for:
- mild to moderate pain (such as headaches, toothache and period pain)
- fever and pain associated with colds and flu-like infections
If you do not feel better after 3 days, or if your condition worsens, consult your doctor.
Dosage form
Directions for use
- Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over (and weighing at least 43 kg):1 tablet up to a maximum of 4 times a day.The maximum daily dose of 4 tablets (equivalent to 2000 mg of paracetamol) must notbeexceeded .
- Children aged 6 to 12 years inclusive:½ tablet up to 3 times a day.
- Children under 6 years of age:Mexalen 500 mg tablets are not suitable for children under 6 years of age.Othersuitable dosage forms with a lower active ingredient contentareavailablefor them. Please seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist on this matter.
- Notes: There should be an interval of at least 6 hours between doses.
- Method and duration of use: Take the tablets with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water). The duration of use should be limited to the duration of the illness. If symptoms persist for longer than 3 days, a doctor must be consulted.
