How to use
- Clean the wound according to medical standards and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
- Choose a Mepitel dressing that overlaps the wound and surrounding skin by at least 2 cm. Mepitel can be cut to size if required.
- Hold the larger protective film in place while you remove the smaller one. Moisten your gloves to prevent the Mepitel from sticking to them.
- Apply Mepitel to the wound and remove the remaining protective film. Smooth Mepitel firmly over the skin surrounding the wound to ensure good adhesion. If more than one Mepitel dressing is required, you can apply the pieces overlapping. Please ensure that the pores are exposed.
- Apply a secondary absorbent dressing over Mepitel. In problem areas or on joints (e.g. under the arm, under the chest, in the crook of the elbow, groin or in deep wounds), ensure that there is sufficient padding so that the Mepitel lies flat on the wound surface.
- Secure the dressing with a suitable fixation.
