Mediderm CREME was specially developed to relieve particularly dry skin and the symptoms4 of psoriasis, eczema and neurodermatitis. Our aim is to support patients on their way to a better quality of life. For this reason, the formula was developed for sensitive skin and contains only a few ingredients, without the addition of fragrances, colourings or parabens.
Mediderm CREME offers patients additional care that can be used alongside treatments with cortisone, for example, and provides preventative support during breaks in treatment. In this way, flare-ups can be delayed and a deterioration of the skin condition can be prevented. Mediderm CREME can be used all over the body on all affected areas.
Mediderm CREME moisturises and forms a protective barrier, maintaining moisture levels and protecting the skin from external influences.5
Mediderm CREME helps to relieve skin irritation, burning and itching and maintain a relaxed skin sensation. The skin is soothed, smooth and supple, reducing flaking and cracking with regular use.
Psoriasis, also known as dandruff, is a chronic skin condition that can be triggered by various factors and is most commonly characterised by excessive flaking of the skin. Psoriasis is not contagious1 and occurs in flares, with the severity and healing time varying from patient to patient - therefore the lichenification and extent of psoriasis differs significantly from patient to patient.
Psoriasis affects over 2% of the world's population, which is why the disease has been recognised by the WHO as "one of the most serious non-infectious diseases in the world "2. In Germany, over 2 million people suffer from psoriasis.3 As a result, there are many different treatment methods that should be individually tailored to patients, including vitamin A and D therapies and cortisone-based cures.
There are also similarities with neurodermatitis, also known as atopic eczema. This chronic skin disease can affect children, adolescents and adults alike and is usually treated with glucocorticoids. Skin inflammation, dandruff and swelling are symptoms of the disease. There are various causes that trigger flare-ups.
Causes of chronic skin diseases
- There are some scientific theories that report that psoriasis and neurodermatitis are allergic skin diseases. Allergies such as hay fever are therefore often among the causes. Genetic predispositions and heredity also play a major role. A weakened immune system, often due to viruses, a cold or even stress, can result in inflammation developing more quickly and the skin's barrier no longer being protected from external influences. The weather can also dry out the skin and remove moisture due to dry or cold air, which can lead to further irritation of the skin. Babies and children are often affected, as their immune systems are not yet fully developed.
