Loceryl antifungal nail polish is a medicinal product for the treatment of fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails. The active ingredient amorolfine contained in Loceryl inhibits the growth of fungi and kills them.
Loceryl is effective against various types of fungi that are sensitive to amorolfine, such as yeasts, skin fungi and moulds. However, bacteria are not sensitive to Loceryl. How to use
- For local application. Apply to the affected nails.
- Apply Loceryl - antifungal nail polish once or twice a week to the affected fingernails or toenails.
The following instructions must be observed during application:
- Before each application of the nail polish, you must file down the diseased parts of the nails (especially nail surfaces) as well as possible using one of the nail files provided. Caution: A nail file used to treat diseased nails must no longer be used for the care of healthy nails!
- Then take a swab soaked in nail polish remover out of its packaging. Use it to clean the surface of the diseased nails or remove any remaining polish. One swab is enough to clean all affected nails. You can also use commercially available nail polish remover.
- Dip the supplied spatula into the nail polish. However, do not wipe it off at the neck of the bottle! Re-dip the spatula for each affected nail.
- Apply the nail polish to the entire nail surface.
- Close the bottle carefully immediately after applying the polish.
- Allow the nail polish applied to the nails to dry for about 3 to 5 minutes. After applying Loceryl antifungal nail polish, it is important to clean your hands. If Loceryl Antifungal Nail Polish is applied to the fingernails, it is necessary to wait for it to dry before washing the hands.
Notes: Cosmetic nail polish can only be applied after a 10-minute break following the application of Loceryl antifungal nail polish. Before using the bottle again, remove any remaining polish or cosmetic polish from the nails and file the nails again. Clean your nails with the enclosed swab and reapply Loceryl - antifungal nail polish as prescribed.
Duration of treatment
- The duration of treatment should be decided by the treating doctor. Fungal infections are often very stubborn. You must therefore use Loceryl - antifungal nail polish without interruption and until the affected nails have grown back completely healthy. The time required for this is generally 6 months for fingernails and nine to twelve months for toenails.
- Due to a lack of experience, children and adolescents under the age of 13 should not be treated with Loceryl.
Ingredients
- The active ingredient is: amorolfine in the form of the hydrochloride. Loceryl antifungal nail polish contains 55.74 mg amorolfine hydrochloride per 1 ml (corresponding to 5% amorolfine hydrochloride).
- The other ingredients are: n-butyl acetate, anhydrous ethanol (0.552 g per 1 g), ethyl acetate, methyl acrylic acid copolymer, triacetin.
- Package contents: Glass vial containing 2.5 ml with screw cap in which a plastic spatula can be integrated, 30 nail files and 30 alcoholic swabs.
