Laxbene® suppositories, 10 ST

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are a laxative. By bringing the active ingredient bisacodyl into contact withthe mucous membrane of the large intestine, they stimulate your bowel movements.When used correctly, Laxbene ratiopharmsuppositories haveno effect in the stomach and small intestine.

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are used :

• for the temporary relief of intestinal sluggishness and constipation
• in preparation for operations and examinations
• for complaints that require easier defecation

For short-term use for constipation

Adults, adolescents andchildren over 10 years of age:

• 1 suppository (10 mg) for immediate emptying

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are used once a day as required. Suppositories areusually effective within 20 minutes (between 10 and 30 minutes).

Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories are not suitable for children under 10 years of age because the recommendeddosage of 5 mg bisacodyl for children aged 2 to 10 years is exceeded with the use of one suppository .

In preparation for operations and examinations

A complete bowel evacuation should always be carried out under medical supervision.The attending physician will determine the laxatives required in each individual case , taking into account the particular circumstances.

To ensure complete bowel evacuation, you should use bothLaxbene ratiopharm film-coated tablets and Laxbene ratiopharm suppositories as directed by your doctor.

Adults, adolescentsand children over 10 years of age:

• 2 Laxbene ratiopharm film-coated tablets (10 mg) in the morning and 2 Laxbeneratiopharm suppositories(10 mg) in the evening on the day before the examinationand 1 Laxbeneratiopharm suppository (10 mg)on the morning of the examination.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: 10 mg bisacodyl

1 suppository contains 10 mg bisacodyl.

The other ingredients are: Cellulose powder, hard fat (Witepsol H 15 and W 35).
