Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin has been specially developed for the care and protection of sensitive nipples.

The highly purified nipple ointment is unbleached and cares for, soothes and protects sensitive nipples as well as dry lips and rough skin. It is 100 per cent natural and does not need to be washed off before breastfeeding.

Clinically and dermatologically tested

Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin is highly purified using an extremely gentle adsorption process. The special manufacturing process makes HPA® Lanolin noticeably different from other lanolin products in terms of colour, smell and consistency. It is odourless and tasteless, so that babies can taste breast milk unadulterated and smell "mummy" when breastfeeding. The nipple ointment from Lansinoh has been clinically and dermatologically tested. Highest quality and purity are required as babies can swallow small amounts of lanolin nipple ointment when breastfeeding. Relief for the mother - safety for the baby, HPA® Lanolin Ointment does not need to be washed off before breastfeeding.

How to apply HPA® Lanolin

• The lanolin ointment should be used after every breastfeeding session and also as required: Squeeze a pea-sized amount of the nipple ointment out of the tube and warm it between your fingers. Gently apply the softened ointment to the nipples and the entire areola. A little lanolin can also be applied to the nursing pad. The best care is achieved when the nipple is covered with lanolin cream for the entire time between feeds. Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin is best stored at room temperature. The warmer the tube is, the easier it is to apply the product. HPA® Lanolin Cream can also be applied before showering or bathing as protection.
• In the case of a possible yeast infection (thrush with the fungus Candida albicans) or a bacterial infection of the nipple, the sole use of HPA® Lanolin Ointment is not sufficient. In these cases, please always ask your midwife, a breastfeeding counsellor or a doctor for advice.

What does moist wound healing mean?

Moist wound healing is generally recommended for the treatment of skin injuries to the nipples. The aim is to maintain or regain the moisture naturally present in the skin. Moist wound healing is achieved by applying a semi-permeable layer to the injured skin. The moisture in the cells can thus be retained so that no scab forms. In this way, the skin is supported in its ability to regenerate.
