L-Mesitran® Soft wound gel for animals, 20 G

Ensure quick and clean healing! L-Mesitran® Soft with 40% medicinal honey and vitamins cleans the wound, fights bacteria and promotes skin regeneration. Safe for all pets and livestock.

L-Mesitran Soft contains: 40% medical honey, medical hypoallergenic lanolin (Medilan"'), propylene glycol, PEG 4000 and vitamins C & E. When L-Mesitran comes into contact with the wound, fluid is removed from the neighbouring tissue. The product thus creates ideal conditions for moist wound healing. By facilitating the autolysis of necrotic and devitalised material, improving wound bed preparation and supporting epithelialisation, the product promotes the wound healing process.

L-Mesitran:

• has antibacterial properties
• Dissolves gradually and is easily removed following local wound cleansing protocols
• prevents a secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed. Due to the natural ingredients, colour (yellow - brown) and viscosity may vary depending on the batch. The product may also contain visible sugar crystals. However, these variations have no influence on the effectiveness and application method of the product.

Areas of application

• Superficial and acute wounds, such as cuts, abrasions and split skin wounds. Superficial and 1st and 2nd degree burns. Chronic wounds, such as pressure ulcers, venous, arterial and diabetic ulcers. Oncological wounds (for deodorisation and wound cleansing). Colonised acute wounds and (post-operative) surgical wounds.

How to use

1. Unscrew the cap, clean the tube thread and the tip of the screw cap with an alcohol swab.
2. Pierce the tube seal with the tip of the cap. Do not press on the tube. B. Jar: Remove the seal and the cap.

Application to the wound:

1. Spread L-Mesitran with a sterile spatula either directly on the wound and periwound area or apply to a sterile gauze first.
2. Then cover the wound with a suitable dressing, depending on the amount of wound secretion.
3. Inspect the wound and surrounding area regularly according to the local protocol.

• Frequency of application: The frequency of application depends on the amount of wound secretion and the needs of the wound. Reapply the product after it has dissolved (approximately every 24 - 48 hours).
• Precautions and notes: 1. always consult a physician for wound management recommendations. 2. do not use new products that are damaged or expired. 3. inspect the wound and clean according to local protocol. 4. after autolytic wound cleansing, the wound may appear larger after the first dressing change. However, this is normal and occurs after removal of the dead tissue in preparation of the wound for healing. 5. in case of intolerance to L-Mesitran or any of its components, remove the product using the appropriate techniques and clean the wound carefully. 6. L-Mesitran is intended for use on a single patient. However, the product can be reused on the same patient. 7. reseal the tube/jar after use. 8. the product is stable for three months after opening. 9. dispose of the product according to local regulations.
