Bepanthen® 50 mg/g Eye and Nose Ointment, 5 G

Bepanthen® Eye and Nose Ointment aids healing in cases of superficial damage to the cornea, conjunctiva or nasal mucosa. Gentle relief thanks to the active ingredient dexpanthenol.

Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment is a medicinal product designed to support wound healing. The active ingredient, dexpanthenol, is rapidly converted within the cells into pantothenic acid, which is a B-complex vitamin. Pantothenic acid is essential for the formation and regeneration of the skin and mucous membranes. 

Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment is used for superficial damage to the conjunctiva and cornea of the eyes or the nasal mucosa. 

If your symptoms do not improve after 3 days (for the eye) or 1 week (for the nose), or if they get worse, consult your doctor.

Bepanthen® Eye and Nose Ointment is suitable for use on the eyes and nose:

In cases of a sore nasal mucosa or a dry, cracked nasal mucosa, it effectively supports the natural healing process and ensures long-lasting regeneration. This allows the nasal mucosa to resume its protective function against viruses and bacteria.

• For an irritated, reddened or raw nose
• Dry, cracked or damaged nasal mucosa
• Crusted nostrils

In the eye, Bepanthen® Eye and Nose Ointment exerts its healing effect on superficial damage to the conjunctiva and cornea. 

• For strained and damaged conjunctiva
• Slightly injured cornea
• Also very suitable for overnight use

Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment is free from colourings, fragrances and preservatives, and is suitable for use during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.

Directions for use

For use in the eye or for nasal application (application to the nose). 

• Apply the ointment once or several times a day using the applicator tip (a strip of ointment approx. 1 cm long) into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye. If you are using other eye medicines, e.g. eye drops, you must leave at least five minutes between applying Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment and using the drops.
• Apply the ointment once or several times a day to the nasal mucosa using the cannula (a strip of ointment approx. 1 cm long). The ointment should be applied to the front part of the nose and can be gently massaged in by pressing the nostrils together. 

Use in children and adolescents: Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment must only be used in children under 6 years of age on medical advice. The dosage for children and adolescents is the same as for adults. For children under 6 years of age, the dosage should be adjusted according to the size of the eyes or nose.

Notes: Once Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment has been applied to the nose, the same tube must not be used on the eye. The duration of treatment depends on the nature and course of the condition. If symptoms have not improved within 3 days (for the eye) or 1 week (for the nose) after starting treatment, consult your doctor.
