Frankincense has a long and important tradition in the traditional medicine of many cultures (in the context of sustainable health maintenance) and was used, for example, in the Indian, Chinese, Arabic, Greco-Roman and Egyptian cultures. Preparations of frankincense are mentioned in ancient texts from various cultures and were used thousands of years ago (Hippocrates, Celsus, Galen, Dioscorides, Hildegard von Bingen, Paracelsus). The list of positive health properties associated with frankincense is long, but it was most commonly used to maintain mobility even under unfavourable physical conditions.

Sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier

Boswellia Vida also contains lecithin from sunflowers with 20% phosphatidylcholine. Lecithins influence the permeability of a membrane (skin, mucous membrane). The absorption and bioavailability of the lipophilic (fat-soluble) ingredients is increased and improved by the addition of lecithins as an emulsifier according to a study**.

Grape seed extract - OPC

Grape seed extract contains a remarkable amount of OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidins). The grape seed extract from Italy used for Boswellia Vida has an excellent ORAC value of over 1,660,000 µmol TE/100g (value for antioxidant capacity). OPCs are very well researched secondary plant substances (see studies on PubMed).

Manganese(II) gluconate

Manganese(II) gluconate has the following effects in the body:
