KAL Lecithin 1200 mg soft capsules are a food supplement containing lecithin in capsule form. One capsule provides 1200 mg of lecithin, which is obtained from soya beans.

Lecithin 1200 mg from KAL provides 1200 mg soya lecithin with a content of 180 mg phosphatidylcholine and 144 mg phosphatidylethanolamine per soft capsule. Lecithin describes a group of fat-like substances, the phosphatidylcholines. These are made up of fatty acids, glycerol, phosphoric acid and - as the name suggests - choline. Phosphatidylcholines are a component of all cell membranes, including those of the brain and nerve cells. Soya is one of the plant sources of lecithin with the highest choline content. Choline is converted into acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter for the transmission of stimuli in the brain and nerves. Choline contributes to the maintenance of normal liver function and plays a role in the function of homocysteine and fat metabolism.
