- LECITHIN is often referred to as nerve food and is extremely important for the entire cell metabolism. Belonging to the class of phosphatides, a high content of lecithin is found primarily in the bone marrow, brain, liver and heart. It is an important building block of cells, especially the cell membrane and nerve tissue. As an emulsifier, lecithin promotes fat digestion, improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin E) and helps to keep the stomach lining healthy.
