Product information "HYLO COMOD® eye drops 2 x 10 ml"
HYLO COMOD® eye drops for improved lubrication of the ocular surface in cases of environmental-related discomfort such as dry eyes, a sensation of a foreign body in the eye or a burning sensation, as well as following eye surgery.
What is HYLO COMOD® used for?
- To improve lubrication of the ocular surface in cases of environmental-related discomfort such as dry eyes, a sensation of a foreign body in the eye or a burning sensation, as well as following eye surgery.
When should you use HYLO COMOD®?
- If your eyes itch, burn, tire quickly and you feel as though you have grit in them, this may be caused by inadequate lubrication of the eye’s surface. For example, during prolonged stays in air-conditioned rooms or when spending a lot of time looking at a screen, the natural tear film may break down more quickly. However, to ensure the tissues of the eye remain fully functional, they must be constantly moistened by the tear film.
- Following eye surgery or eye injuries, the body’s own tear production may be reduced. However, the regeneration of the eye’s superficial tissues requires constant and adequate moisturisation. The use of HYLO COMOD® provides the cornea and conjunctiva with long-lasting moisture, enabling the physiological healing processes to proceed optimally.
- HYLO COMOD® contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the eye as well as in other parts of the body . It has the unique physical property of forming an even, stable and particularly long-lasting film of moisture on the surface of the eye, without being quickly washed away. Vision remains fully intact. This provides the eye with long-lasting protection against dryness and irritation . This is particularly important for contact lens wearers, as contact lenses are only optimally tolerated when they can float in sufficient tear fluid.
- HYLO COMOD® can be used whilst wearing contact lenses. Wearing contact lenses becomes more comfortable with the use of HYLO COMOD®, without the formation of crusts or deposits.
- As it is preservative-free, HYLO COMOD® is generally very well tolerated. HYLO COMOD® is also phosphate-free, thereby preventing potential complications caused by the formation of deposits on the cornea.

Directions for use
- Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and, with your other hand, pull the bottle away from the cap with a twisting motion. Before using HYLO COMOD®, hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards and press it against the base of the bottle until the first drop emerges from the tip of the bottle. The bottle is then ready for use for subsequent applications.
- Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards, placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the base.
- Rest the hand holding the COMOD® bottle on your free hand, as shown.
- When administering the eye drops, avoid any contact between the tip of the bottle and your eye or skin. Tilt your head back slightly, use your free hand to pull the lower eyelid gently away from your eye, and press quickly and firmly on the centre of the base of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for dispensing a drop. Thanks to the special valve technology of the COMOD® system, the size and speed of the drop remain constant even when very firm pressure is applied to the base of the bottle. Slowly close your eyes so that the liquid can spread evenly across the surface of the eye. After use, immediately and carefully
- After use, carefully close the dropper tip immediately with the cap. Please ensure that the dropper tip is dry.
