Gepan® instill prefilled syringe contains a sterile sodium chondroitin sulphate solution (0.2%) for the temporary replacement of the glycosaminoglycan layer (GAG layer) in the bladder in chronic cystitis (urinary bladder inflammation).

One of the most common organic causes of the persistent symptoms is a defect in the bladder's protective layer (glycosaminoglycan layer or GAG layer for short), through which bacteria can penetrate and settle in the lower bladder tissue. There, the pathogens repeatedly trigger bladder infections (cystitis).

How to use

After the bladder has been completely emptied, the entire volume of Gepan® instill isinstilled into thebladder using a catheter.To do this, first remove the cap from the syringe and connect it to a suitable catheter using the multi-catheter connection.

Gepan® instill should then remain in the bladder for as long as possible, but at least 30 minutes.During the first four weeks of treatment, it is recommended that instillation be carried out once a week.

Thereafter, treatment should be carried out at monthly intervals until the patient is symptom-free. In some patients,depending on the course of symptoms, it maybe necessary toextend the initial phase of weekly instillations to six or moreweeks and then switch to a monthly frequency.

Ingredients

40 ml solution contains 80 mg sodium chondroitin sulphate (0.2 %, 2 mg/ml). Gepan® instill contains no preservatives.
