L-phenylalanine is an essential amino acid and, together with L-tyrosine (non-essential), belongs to the group of aromatic amino acids. L-tyrosine can be formed from L-phenylalanine in the liver.
Important endogenous substances are formed from L-tyrosine in the body in different ways. On the one hand, L-tyrosine is the precursor of numerous messenger substances (neurotransmitters) such as dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline; on the other hand, this amino acid is the starting material for thyroid hormones and the brown pigment of the skin, melanin. Properties such as improved learning ability, memory, alertness and the elimination of dullness and fatigue are also attributed to this amino acid. It prolongs and increases the activity of happiness hormones (endorphins), which contributes significantly to a person's mood.

- Adults: Take 1 x 1 capsule daily with liquid.
- Advice: Should not be taken during pregnancy. Not for people with a congenital enzyme defect for L-phenylalanine metabolism (Fölling's disease = phenylketonuria). (Fölling's disease = phenylketonuria) Should not be taken together with MAO inhibitors.
