- Your baby' s growth phase begins from the 13th week of pregnancy. With Femibion® 2 Pregnancy you receive important nutrients that provide you and your baby with targeted nutrition during pregnancy.
- Folate is also important in the second and third trimester, as it contributes to the growth of maternal tissue (e.g. the placenta). The placenta provides your baby with all the nutrients it needs , which is why you should make sure you have a sufficient supply of folatethroughout your pregnancy .
- Femibion® 2 Pregnancy offers you the special combination of two folate suppliers (folic acid and Metafolin®) and DHA.
- Femibion® 2 Pregnancy contains DHA and lutein in a separate capsule. Lutein gives the capsule its characteristic red colour.
- In addition to folate, lutein and DHA, Femibion® 2 Pregnancy also containsother selected nutrients: 10 vitamins including vitamin D, iodine, iron, selenium, magnesium and zinc.
- Magnesium contributes to normal energy metabolism and helps to reduce fatigue.
- After the birth, we recommend taking Femibion® 3 Lactation, which contains calcium, among other things, which contributes tothe maintenance of normal bones and muscle function.
- Breastfeeding helps you to build a close bond with your baby and also provides it with essential nutrients.
- Your need for certain nutrients is also increased during breastfeeding , which is why you should also make sure you get enough of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA , which contributes to the normal development of your breastfed baby's brain and eyes. To do this, you should take200 mg of DHA daily in addition to the recommended daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids for adults (i.e. 250 mg of DHA and EPA).
- FOLIC ACIDis a synthetically produced B vitamin that the body converts into bioactive folate. Folate contributes to normal haematopoiesis, cell division and maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.
- METAFOLIN®is a premium folate form that can be utilised by almost all women.
- LUTEINis a carotenoid found in several plants, including many vegetables and fruits. It gives the Femibion® capsule its characteristic colour.
- DHAis the abbreviation for docosahexaenoic acid. This important, polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid contributes to the normal development of your foetus's brain and eyes*.
- IODINEcontributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function.
- VITAMIN D AND ZINCcontribute to the normal function of the immune system and play a role in cell division.
- VITAMIN B1, VITAMIN B2 AND BIOTINcontribute to normal energy metabolism and normal function of the nervous system.
