Nasal rinses for children with a runny nose

Many children often have colds or sniffles because their immune system is still developing. They bring one cold after another home with them from nursery or school, as they easily infect each other there. Once the nose is really mucoused up or blocked, the natural self-cleaning function of the nose can be impaired by the infection. As a result, a harmless cold can develop into sinusitis or middle ear infections. It is therefore important to treat respiratory diseases in children carefully from the outset.

Nasal rinses with Emser salt gently support the treatment with their natural mode of action, moisturise and cleanse the nasal mucous membrane, gently support decongestion and are recommended for relieving small colds. As an isotonic rinsing solution, nasal rinsing with Emser salt is used, for example, for acute or chronic rhinitis or sinusitis.

As with adults, a nasal douche for children is used to moisturise and cleanse the nasal mucosa. The rinsing solution flows out of the nasal douche into the nose, rinses the nose, rinses around the nasal septum and runs out of the other nasal opening. The use of nasal irrigation in children is particularly appropriate for acute or chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, tympanic effusions or allergy-related symptoms. For acute problems, use your child's nasal douche once to three times a day or as required.

How to use

1. Fill the nasal douche with water- unscrew the lid and fill the Emser Nasal Douche Nasanita up to the mark with water (125 ml). Add the contents of one sachet of Emser salt 1.475 g. Important: dissolve the Emser salt completely by shaking vigorously!
2. Fold up the nosepiece - Fold up the nosepiece as far as it will go and place the Emser Nasal Douche Nasanita on one nostril. Now remove your finger from the lid valve. The solution then rinses around the nasal septum and runs out again to the other nostril.
3. Rinsing the nose- You can also gently squeeze the rinsing container. This gently increases the rinsing pressure. In this way, the upper sections of the nasal cavity, especially the connecting passages to the paranasal sinuses, are cleaned better.
