The EldonCard is a product of the highest quality. It is ISO-certified, CE-marked in the EU, approved by the US FDA and registered with the relevant authorities in a number of other countries. The EldonCard consists of a special plastic onto which dried antibody formulations are applied. The EldonCard is a reliable, durable and flexible point-of-care blood typing system.

The EldonCard is extremely safe to use. It is highly accurate, and the use of the card eliminates many of the potential human errors associated with traditional laboratory-based methods, where blood typing is performed with liquid reagents on a glass plate. It also leaves a permanent record - the EldonCard - which can either be included in a patient diary or given to the patient for safe keeping.

The blood is drawn using a disposable safety lancet, which prevents accidental puncture by a person who picks up the lancet after it has been used for blood typing.

The EldonCard is extremely accurate. It has been tested with the standard blood typing procedure using direct agglutinating antibodies. The tests were carried out in several laboratories in different countries and the result is that there is a 99.9 per cent agreement between the results of the EldonCard and a test using a well-performed standard blood typing procedure.
