The EldonCard is a product of the highest quality. It is ISO-certified, bears the CE mark in the EU, is approved by the US FDA and is registered with the relevant authorities in a number of other countries. The EldonCard is made from a special type of plastic onto which dried antibody formulations are applied. The EldonCard is a reliable, durable and flexible point-of-care blood-typing system.

The EldonCard is extremely safe to use. It is highly accurate, and its use eliminates many of the potential human errors that occur with conventional laboratory-based methods, where blood group determination is carried out using liquid reagents on a glass slide. Furthermore, it leaves a permanent record – the EldonCard – which can either be included in a patient’s medical record or given to the patient for safe keeping.

Blood is collected using a disposable safety lancet, which prevents accidental pricking by anyone handling the lancet after it has been used for blood group determination.

The EldonCard is extremely accurate. It has been tested against the standard blood-typing procedure using direct-agglutination antibodies. The tests were carried out in several laboratories in different countries, and the result is that there is a 99.9 per cent agreement between the results of the EldonCard and a test using a well-executed standard blood-typing procedure.
