DulcoLax® suppositories, 100 ST

DulcoLax® suppositories are a laxative for the short-term treatment of constipation. They contain the active ingredient bisacodyl, which stimulates bowel activity and facilitates bowel movements.

Dulcolax suppositories are a laxative. By bringing the active ingredient bisacodyl into contact with the mucous membrane of the large intestine, they stimulate your bowel movements. When used correctly, Dulcolax suppositories have no effect in the stomach and small intestine. Therefore, they do not alter digestion or the absorption of calories and nutrients in the small intestine.

Dulcolax suppositories are used

• for the short-term relief of intestinal sluggishness and constipation
• in preparation for operations and examinations
• for illnesses that require easier defecation

If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

• Adults with constipation: 1 suppository (10 mg) for immediate evacuation. The maximum recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.
• Children and adolescents over 10 years of age for constipation: 1 suppository (10 mg) for immediate evacuation. The maximum recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.
• Adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age in preparation for operations and examinations: 2 Dulcolax coated tablets (10 mg) in the morning and evening on the day before the examination and 1 Dulcolax suppository (10 mg) on the morning of the examination.
• Dulcolax suppositories are not suitable for children under 10 years of age because the recommended dosage of 5 mg bisacodyl for children aged 2 to 10 years is exceeded with the use of one suppository.
• Route of administration: For rectal use. Dulcolax suppositories are used once a day as required. Suppositories are usually effective within 20 minutes (between 10 and 30 minutes). Remove the suppositories from their wrapper and insert them into the rectum with the pointed end first.
• Duration of use: Prolonged use should be avoided. The need for continued use should be reviewed after one week and the required duration of use determined on a case-by-case basis.
