What is coenzyme Q10?

Coenzyme Q10 is a natural substance that is produced by the body itself. It is responsible for the production of over 90% of our body's energy (ATP) in the mitochondria. The concentration of coenzyme Q10 is particularly high in the heart, muscles and organs that require a lot of energy (e.g. kidneys and liver).

When should I take coenzyme Q10?

With increasing age (from the age of 50), the body's own production of coenzyme Q10 is reduced. The reduced coenzyme Q10 level then has a negative effect on the body's energy supply. Cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins) also inhibit the formation of coenzyme Q10. As a result, these medications, which are helpful in themselves, often unintentionally lead to tiredness, fatigue or muscle complaints. In both cases, a supplementary supply of coenzyme Q10 is useful and important.

Dr Böhm® Coenzyme Q10: the ideal supplement

Dr Böhm® Coenzyme Q10 is your daily companion from the age of 50 and while taking cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins). The capsules combine coenzyme Q10 in a particularly high dosage (100 mg) with the important vitamin B12 and thiamine (vitamin B1).

  • Coenzyme Q10: With increasing age and as a result of taking cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins), the body's own production of coenzyme Q10 is reduced. This leads to a reduced supply of energy.
  • Thiamine contributes to normal heart function.
  • Vitamin B12 also makes an important contribution to reducing tiredness and fatigue. Together with vitamin B12, it also contributes to normal energy metabolism.

Directions
  • Take 1 capsule daily unchewed with a little liquid, preferably with or after a meal. If there is an increased requirement, the intake can be increased to 2 capsules in the first 2 weeks.
  • Notes: Coenzyme Q10 is structurally similar to the fat-soluble vitamin K2 and could reduce the effectiveness of certain anticoagulant drugs (anticoagulants from the vitamin K antagonist group such as Marcumar). However, this could not be confirmed in a clinical study with 100 mg coenzyme Q10.1 Nevertheless, we recommend checking your blood coagulation values if you are taking it at the same time as vitamin K antagonists. Composition per 1 capsule (NRV*): Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) 100 mg, thiamine 2.2 g 200 %, vitamin B12 5 µg 200 %, virgin oliveoil1 308 mg corresponding to omega-9 216 mg. *NRV = nutrient reference value in %.1 Relative fatty acid composition: oleic acid 70%.
