What to do if your bladder keeps bothering you?

It is invisible, often underestimated and yet one of the most important muscle groups in the body: the pelvic floor has an important function in the female body as it acts as a natural support for internal organs such as the bladder, bowel and uterus. Over the course of a lifetime, the pelvic floor can become weak due to a wide variety of external influences and this sometimes has a direct impact on bladder function.

Bladder weakness - an issue that concerns many women

If the pelvic floor is under a lot of strain due to pregnancy and childbirth, for example, it can no longer optimally support the urethral sphincter. What happens then is a concern for many women: The bladder is incessant and sometimes the flow of urine stops without warning. This can happen especially during physical exertion, such as when lifting or climbing stairs, but often also simply when laughing, coughing or sneezing. This is naturally unpleasant and annoying for those affected, and their quality of life suffers.

The situation can worsen with increasing age or due to hormonal changes - one in three women aged 60 and over in Austria has to deal with their pelvic floor and bladder function because their underwear and clothes often get wet. So it's no wonder that many women long for natural support.

Pumpkin seed extract for the bladder

Studies show that the water-soluble ingredients from the Styrian oil pumpkin (lat. Cucurbita pepo styriaca) support bladder function and normal urinary flow1^,2.

Pumpkin seed extract

The pumpkin seed extract contained in Dr Böhm® Pumpkin for Women supports bladder function and the pelvic floor muscles. Studies have scientifically proven that it supports involuntary loss of urine. In women (35-84 years), the daily incidence of involuntary loss of urine was reduced by 41% after two weeks of use and by as much as 68% after six weeks.¹

The positive effect of pumpkin seeds on the bladder has been known in folk medicine for several centuries. Since the beginning of the 20th century, a special type of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo styriaca) has been cultivated mainly in Styria. The use of its seeds to support bladder function is scientifically recognised.

How to use

During the first 2-4 weeks, 1 tablet should be taken twice daily (morning and evening) unchewed with a little liquid, regardless of the meal. Thereafter, it is recommended to take 1 tablet preferably before bedtime over a longer period (at least 3 months). If necessary, 2 tablets can also be taken over a longer period.

• Composition per tablet: extract from the seeds of the Styrian ^oilpumpkin1 400 mg, ^soyaextract2 30 mg.¹ Extr. sem. Cucurbitae peponis styriacae sicc. 20:1, corresponding to approx. 40 (8 g) pumpkin seeds per tablet.² standardised to at least 12 mg isoflavones per tablet; free from genetic engineering.
• 1 tablet contains 0.02 BE.
