DeflaGyn® vaginal gel containing highly dispersed silicon dioxide and Deflamin. To promote remission in cases of inconclusive cervical smear results (PAP III or PAP IIID). For HPV-related cervical lesions.

DeflaGyn® vaginal gel is a medical device designed to promote remission and regression in cases of inconclusive cervical smear results (ASC-US, ASC-H, LSIL, HSIL / PAP II-p, PAP III-p, PAP IIID1, PAP IIID2 (MUNICH III) / PAP III, PAP IIID) or HPV-related or p16/Ki-67-positive cervical lesions or cervical erosions. It has been specifically developed for use whilst awaiting the next smear test.

DeflaGyn® is a silicone-based vaginal gel:

When should I use this product?

DeflaGyn® shouldbe used following an abnormal cervical smear result (PAP III or PAP IIID).
This helps to promote the conditions for spontaneous remission (improvement in the test results). DeflaGyn® should be used for a course of 3 x 28 days.

Please also refer to the instructions for use provided with the application kit. Draw up 5 ml ofthe gel by slowly pulling the applicator plunger up to the 5 ml mark. Theninsert the applicator sufficiently deep into the vagina (up to the cervix).

Method of administration

Place the DeflaGyn® bottle on a flatsurface. Open thebottle’sscrew cap.Attachone of the applicatorsto the bottle openingbypressing firmly.
Rotate the DeflaGyn® bottle with theapplicator attached by 180°. Draw up5 ml of the gel by slowly pulling theapplicator plunger up to the 5 ml mark.Now remove the filled applicator from the bottle neck and,at the same time, place the bottle back on the surface.
Use a cushionto raiseyour pelvis slightly.Insertthe applicator as deeply as possible intothe vagina (up to the cervix). This iseasiestto dowhilst lying on your back with your legs slightly bent. Once you have positioned the applicator correctly,empty it by gently pressing the plunger.Then withdraw the applicator from the vagina.
Remain lying down for about 1 minute.Please ensure that your pelvisremainselevated. Thisensures that the vaginal gel isdistributed properlyat the cervix.
Dispose of the used applicator.

How long should I use DeflaGyn®?

Non-menstruating patients:DeflaGyn® should be used for a course of 3 x 28 days. After 28days of treatment,pleasetake a 3-day break from treatment during which youdo not usethe DeflaGyn® intravaginal gel. You should then continue treatment for a further 28 days, followed byanother 3-day break, and then start the third treatment cycle for a further 28 days.
Patients who menstruate:The DeflaGyn® intravaginal gel is not used during menstrual bleeding(approx. 3–5 days per cycle). An additional 3-day break is not required, as thetreatment break has already taken place during the menstrual bleeding.
Special notes:DeflaGyn® vaginal gel should only be used after consulting a doctor, particularlyduring pregnancy. Local intravaginaltreatments(therapeutic and/or cleansingand/or contraceptive) shouldbe carried outno earlier than 2 hours after applyingDeflaGyn® vaginal gel. Minor reddish discolouration on or insidethe cap does not affect the product’s usability.
