DROPtonic® 5 % eye drops - multidose, 10 ML

DROPtonic® 5 % is a hypertonic ophthalmic solution for the treatment of corneal oedema resulting from mechanical, toxic, dystrophic or inflammatory damage. Medical device.

DROPtonic® 5 % makes the tear fluid hypertonic, thereby removing excess water from the corneal tissue via an osmotic effect and reducing the swelling.

Indications

DROPtonic® 5 % is indicated for: 

• a sensation of discomfort, burning and irritation of the eyes caused by corneal oedema. 
• In cases of abnormal fluid accumulation due to corneal oedema, with or without inflammation, or blunt trauma following refractive or ophthalmic surgery, in cases of cataracts, transplants, retinal detachments, corneal transplants, corneal endothelial decompensation and all cases of corneal decompensation resulting from dystrophic, mechanical, toxic and inflammatory damage.

Directions for use

1. Open the bottle and remove the protective cap.
2. Gently squeeze the bottle and instil 2 drops into each eye; repeat if necessary.
3. After use, close the bottle immediately: the remaining contents can be reused for up to 3 months after first opening.

Warnings and precautions: The product is intended for external use on the eye only. The product is intended for a specific patient only. Do not use in the event of known intolerance or hypersensitivity to the product’s ingredients. Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged or not sealed when first opened. Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the packaging. Should any problems arise during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. When applying the product, do not touch the eye or any other surface with the dispensing tip. The expiry date applies to the product when it is intact and has been stored correctly. Read the entire package leaflet carefully before you start using this product. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use. The solution may cause stains on surfaces and fabrics. In rare cases, microcalcifications in the cornea have been observed in patients with a history of corneal disease who were treated with phosphate-containing eye preparations. In such cases, it is recommended that the product be used under medical supervision. A clear, straw-coloured solution. In the event of contact with the skin or clothing, the product can be easily removed.

Composition: Riboflavin sodium phosphate (0.000075%), sodium chloride (5%), vitamin E TPGS, sodium hyaluronate, L-proline, L-glycine, L-leucine, L-lysine hydrochloride, dibasic sodium phosphate dodecahydrate, monobasic sodium phosphate monohydrate, purified water. Preservative-free.
