DROPtonic® 5 % is a hypertonic ophthalmic solution for the treatment of corneal oedema caused by mechanical, toxic, dystrophic or inflammatory damage. Medical device.

DROPtonic® 5 % makes the tear fluid hypertonic, thus removing excess water from the corneal tissue through an osmotic effect and reducing the swelling.

Areas of application

DROPtonic® 5 % is indicated for

• Feeling of discomfort, burning and irritation of the eyes due to corneal oedema.
• Abnormal accumulation of fluid due to corneal oedema with or without inflammation or blunt trauma following refractive or ophthalmic surgery, cataracts, transplants, retinal detachment, corneal transplants, corneal endothelial decompensation and all corneal decompensation due to dystrophic, mechanical, toxic and inflammatory damage.

How to use

1. Open the vial and remove the protective cap.
2. Squeeze the vial gently and instil 2 drops into each eye; repeat if necessary.
3. Close the vial immediately after use: The remaining contents can be reused for up to 3 months after first opening.

Warnings and precautions: The product is intended for external use on the eye only. The product is for single patient use only! Do not use in case of known intolerance or hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the product. Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged or not sealed when first opened. Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the packaging. If problems occur during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Do not touch the eye or any other surface with the dosing tip when applying the product. The expiry date applies to the intact and properly stored product. Read the entire package leaflet carefully before you start using this product. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use. The solution may stain surfaces and textiles. In rare cases, microcalcification of the cornea has been observed in patients with previous corneal diseases treated with phosphate-containing eye preparations. In such cases, it is recommended to use the product under medical supervision. Transparent solution with a straw-yellow colour. In case of contact with the skin or clothing, the product can be easily removed.
