ConvaTec AQUACEL® Extra Wound Dressing, sterile, 10 x 10 cm, 10 ST

Convatec AQUACEL® Extra is a soft, sterile, non-woven wound dressing or tamponade made of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and regenerated cellulose fibre for reinforcement. This highly absorbent dressing absorbs wound secretions and forms a soft gel.

The gel keeps the wound moist and creates an optimal wound healing environment. AQUACEL® supports the healing process and facilitates the removal of dead tissue from the wound (autolytic debridement) without damaging the newly formed tissue.

Fields of application

AQUACEL® EXTRA is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic moderately to heavily exuding wounds:

• Ulcus cruris, decubiti (grade II-IV) and diabetic ulcers
• Surgical wounds (e.g. post-operative wounds with secondary healing and split-thickness skin removal sites)
• Second-degree burns
• Traumatic wounds (e.g. lacerations, abrasions and cuts)
• Exudate absorption in oncological wounds (exuding skin tumours, skin metastases and Kaposi's sarcoma)
