The scar gel helps with scars after operations as well as after abrasions, lacerations or cuts. As soon as the stitches have been removed, the wound is closed and the scab has fallen off, wound treatment can begin.

Contractubex® Gel consists of a combination of three active ingredients that complement each other:
The active ingredient Extractum cepae (onion extract) has an anti-inflammatory, decongestant and bactericidal effect. It prevents the formation of bulging scar tissue.
- The heparin it contains loosens the tissue structure, is also anti-inflammatory, has a moisturising effect and promotes water retention in the scar tissue. This promotes blood circulation in the scar tissue, even in older scars with extreme dehydration.
- The third active ingredient, allantoin, promotes wound healing and also has a soothing effect. Itching thus becomes more bearable or disappears completely.
- In addition, the special base of the gel promotes the penetration of the active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin where they are needed.
Contractubex® Gel can be used for scars caused by various types of injury:
- Abrasions are usually superficial skin injuries that occur when the skin is scraped over rough surfaces. This happens, for example, when falling on tarmac. Whether cycling, inline skating or playing football - abrasions are typical sports injuries.
- Cuts are caused by sharp, smooth objects. This can be a knife, a broken glass or the sharp edge of a piece of paper. A cut usually goes through several layers of skin and results in a deep wound.
- Lacerations are caused by blunt force trauma, such as a fall or blow. They mainly occur where the skin lies directly on the bone, such as on the skull, knee or shin.
- Surgery is a major cause of larger scars. Most operations involve deep, smooth incisions, which are then neatly sutured. In healthy tissue, such a wound heals quickly and easily. Nevertheless, a scar is also formed if there is good healing - for example, caesarean section scars or scars after thyroid surgery.
- Burns and scalds are categorised according to severity - from minor burns, where only the upper layer of the skin is damaged, to severe burns, where all layers of the skin and underlying tissue are affected. In the case of serious burns, it is essential to consult a doctor.
- Laser treatments (such as tattoo removal)Laser treatment is one of the most common methods of tattoo removal. Although laser treatment is relatively gentle thanks to modern technology, the skin is damaged and without the right care, scars can form on the treated area.
- In general, early treatment with Contractubex® Gel can help to prevent unsightly and noticeable scarring. Treatment can generally be started as soon as the scab has completely dissolved or the stitches have been removed.
Contractubex® Gel contains the active ingredients onion extract, heparin and allantoin:
- Onion extract (Extractum cepae) counteracts inflammation and prevents the formation of bulging scar tissue.
- Heparinsoftens hardened scars and promotes blood circulation.
- Allantoinensures that the other active ingredients can be better absorbed by the skin, promotes elasticity and relieves itching.

How to use
- Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, massage Contractubex gently into the scar tissue several times a day. In the case of hardened, old scars, you can leave Contractubex on overnight under a bandage if necessary.
- Depending on the extent and thickness of the scar, treatment may take several weeks to months.
- When treating fresh scars in particular, you should avoid physical stimuli such as extreme cold or UV light or excessive massaging.
