Directions for use
Method of use:
For application to the nails.
The recommended dose is:
Unless otherwise prescribed, a thin layer of Ciclocutan active ingredient-containing nail varnish should be applied to the affected nail every other day during the first month. This ensures that the nail is saturated with the active ingredient.
In the second month of treatment, the frequency of application may be reduced to at least twice a week, and from the third month of treatment onwards to once a week.
The following instructions must be strictly observed when using Ciclocutan active ingredient-containing nail varnish:
- Before you begin treatment with Ciclocutan active-ingredient nail varnish, remove as much of the damaged nail tissue as possible using scissors or the enclosed disposable nail files.
- Always use one of the enclosed alcohol swabs to clean the nail surface. This will also remove any residual nail varnish.
- Please apply the active-ingredient-containing nail varnish using one of the reusable spatulas included in the pack. There are 10 individual, reusable spatulas in a clear display pack. The individual reusable spatulas must be broken out of the clear packaging before use. A spatula holder is also included in the pack. By attaching a single spatula to the spatula holder, applying the nail varnish is made easier.
- For each nail to be treated, dip the spatula with the perforated surface into the glass vial and do not wipe it along the neck of the bottle (there is a risk that the screw cap may stick to the bottle).
- Using the spatula, apply Ciclocutan active-ingredient nail varnish evenly across the entire surface of the affected nail.
- The special shape of the spatula holder prevents the spatula from coming into contact with the surface on which it is placed (fungal spores remain on the spatula). You can set the spatula down in between applications without worrying about fungal spores being transferred.
- Screw the bottle tightly shut immediately after use to prevent the solution from drying out.
- Clean the spatula after use with the alcohol swab so that it can be reused. The entire layer of nail varnish is removed once a week during the treatment period using alcohol swabs . Using the disposable nail files, remove as much of the affected nail tissue. Apply Ciclocutan active ingredient-containing nail varnish to these areas. Do not use nail files that have been used to treat affected nails on healthy nails. Do not use the nail files if they show any visible damage.
Duration of treatment:
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the infection. However, treatment must not exceed 6 months without consulting a doctor. As a rule, the pathogens causing the nail fungus are destroyed during this period. If you are unsure whether treatment should be continued, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
