Children's LUUF® Balsam, 30 G

Children's LUUF® Balsam is an over-the-counter medicine for the external treatment of colds. Ideal for children from the age of 2 for symptoms such as coughs, runny nose and sore throats.

Kinder LUUF® Balsam contains the essential oils of eucalyptus and the resin balsam of various pine species as well as camphor, menthol and thymol as active ingredients. Some of the active ingredients are absorbed through the skin and cause increased blood circulation, which creates a warming sensation. On the other hand, the essential oils are absorbed as volatile components from the treated body parts directly into the lungs via the air we breathe.

The effect of Kinder LUUF® Balsam is antispasmodic, antiseptic (germ-inhibiting) and expectorant. The stuck mucus is liquefied and can be coughed up more easily. It also makes breathing easier and relieves the urge to cough.

Indications:

• For external use in colds with symptoms such as coughs, runny nose and pharyngitis.
• For the supportive treatment of tracheal and bronchial catarrh (bronchitis) and persistent recurring catarrh.

Directions for use

Children from the age of 2 up to the age of 12:

• Rubbing in: Apply LUUF® Balm to children 2 to 3 times a day, at least in the morning and evening. Depending on the age of the child, apply approx. 1 - 2 teaspoons of balm to the chest and back and rub in gently. The effect is improved if the chest and back are covered with a pre-warmed bodice or warm cloths.

Inhalation for children aged 6 and over:

• Place an approximately hazelnut-sized amount of Children's LUUF® Balsam in a container of hot water and inhale vapours for several minutes.

Ingredients

• The active ingredients in 1 g of balm are 15 mg eucalyptus essential oil, 50 mg purified turpentine essential oil, 50 mg camphor, 27.5 mg menthol, 2.5 mg thymol.
• The other ingredients are nutmeg oil, cedar leaf oil, white petrolatum and hard paraffin.
