Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 mg capsules are an over-the-counter medicine for the prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency. They contain 500 mg vitamin C per capsule and ensure a continuous supply of vitamin C over several hours.

Cetebe is a vitamin C preparation. Vitamin C is vital for the human body and influences a large number of metabolic processes. It must be supplied regularly and in sufficient quantities because it cannot be produced by the body itself.

Cetebe is used to prevent and treat vitamin C deficiencies that cannot be corrected by diet. Cetebe prolonged-release capsules have a long-term effect as they contain vitamin C in prolonged-release form. This means that they release the vitamin C they contain into the body over several hours.

How does Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard work?

As the human body cannot produce vitamin C itself, the nutrient must be taken in sufficiently with food. An unbalanced and unhealthy diet or irregular food intake can lead to a vitamin C deficiency. Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard is a medicinal product for the prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency if sufficient intake is not ensured through the diet.

What is ZEITPERLEN® Vitamin C?

ZEITPERLEN® consist of several alternating layers of vitamin C and a slowly soluble food coating. This enables a slow release, in which the vitamin C is released into the body layer by layer. This ensures a continuous supply of vitamin C to the body over several hours.

When is it recommended to take Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard?

A supplementary supply of vitamin C can be particularly useful when there is an increased need for vitamin C (e.g. during sporting activities).

Directions

• Adults:1 - 2 capsules daily.
• Use in children and adolescents: Children and adolescents under the age of 13 need less vitamin C than adults. Cetebe is therefore not suitable for them. Your doctor will decide whether Cetebe should be taken by adolescents aged 13 and over.
• Method of administration: Oral use. Take the capsules whole with a little liquid.
• Duration of use: The duration of use depends on your symptoms and the laboratory values. Do not take for longer than six months without medical advice.

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is: ascorbic acid (vitamin C). 1 prolonged-release capsule contains 500 mg ascorbic acid.
• The other ingredients are Capsule contents: sucrose, maize starch, stearic acid, shellac, talc, tartaric acid, capsule shell: riboflavin colouring (E 101), sodium dodecyl sulphate, gelatine, purified water.
