Your body cannot produce vitamin C and zinc itself, so both nutrients must be taken in sufficiently with food. Vitamin D occupies a special position among the vitamins, as it can be produced in the skin by healthy people with the help of sunlight. It is therefore often referred to as the "sun vitamin". However, in the darker months of the year and when you are rarely outside in the sunshine, you should make sure you get enough vitamin D from your diet.

How important are vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc for the immune system?

• Vitamin C plays an important role in the non-specific immune system and supports, among other things, the body's own first line of defence: it is highly concentrated in white blood cells, which fight viruses or bacteria that have entered the body. Vitamin C can also neutralise so-called "free radicals", which can arise in the body during inflammatory reactions.
• Vitamin D is involved in processes in both the non-specific and the specific immune system. In the non-specific immune system, it stimulates the formation of certain substances that ensure that pathogens are less able to multiply. It is also needed to activate certain harmless immune cells and convert them into killer cells that fight the infection.
• Zinc plays an important role in the specific immune system. It is also required for the production of special cells, the so-called natural killer cells. These cells target infected or transformed cells and eliminate them.

Directions

As a dietary supplement, swallow 1 capsule daily with plenty of liquid. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake . Cetebe® ABWEHR plus must not be taken with other food supplements containing zinc. Food supplements arenot a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
