The Cellona® plaster bandage from Lohmann & Rauscher is a versatile product for immobilisation after fractures. It offers a number of advantages that make it a popular choice for healthcare professionals and patients alike.

Cellona® plaster bandages are designed for the production of immobilising plaster casts on body parts after injuries and fractures as well as for the production of splints and reinforcements for circular plaster casts.

Versatility for flexible plaster casts

Stability and ease of application combined: ready-to-use Cellona plaster bandages are finely creamy and supple in their modelling. They are used for immobilisation after fractures. They are also used after operations and orthopaedic corrections to treat joint and bone disorders and thus support the healing process.

Adaptable and quick to load

Cellona plaster bandages allow time-saving application and easy adaptation to the relevant part of the body. They have a relatively short immersion time and enable rapid soaking. In addition, the finished bandage can be loaded early and is ready for transport after 30 minutes. Complete curing takes place after approx. 24 hours.

Application

  1. Immerse the bandage at an angle in water at a temperature of 20 °C - 25 °C (approx. 1 second per metre of bandage). Caution: The immersion water temperature must not exceed 25 °C, as this leads to an increase in the setting temperature, which can cause burns to the patient.
  2. Remove the bandage from the water and allow it to drain. Then press the bandage lightly to remove excess water.
  3. Apply Cellona® plaster bandages in a circular pattern without pulling, with the layers overlapping by about half. Then mould thoroughly to ensure a good bond between the layers, making sure that no pressure points are created.

The setting time is 3 - 4 min. Cellona® plaster bandages are partially loadable after 30 minutes and fully loadable after 36 - 48 h. The hardened plaster can be removed with the usual tools.
