Citronella oil has proven its worth as a natural insect repellent. When applied to the skin, it acts as an insect repellent. Should a mosquito or other insect bite you, the bite can be treated naturally with citronella oil. Citronella has antiseptic, disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties. Due to its sweat-inhibiting effect, it can also be used as a deodorant for foot care, particularly in cases of sweaty feet and athlete’s foot.

Usage

• Aromatherapy: With just 1–2 drops per 10 m² of room space, citronella oil fills the room with a pleasantly fresh scent.
• Personal care: Mix a maximum of 10 drops with 50 ml of carrier oil and apply to the skin.
• Directions for use: Essential oil for room fragrance Never use essential oils undiluted on the skin. Mix them with a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, almond or jojoba oil) to avoid skin irritation. The skin should not be exposed to intense sunlight immediately after applying citronella oil, as citronella can increase the skin’s sensitivity to light.
