Carbo medicinalis ‘Sanova’ tablets are a medicinal product for adsorption therapy in cases of acute non-specific diarrhoea, particularly when travelling to countries with low standards of hygiene.

Carbo medicinalis “Sanova” tablets contain high-quality medicinal activated charcoal, which is produced by the specialised carbonisation of plant-based materials. Due to its large surface area, it possesses a high binding capacity. In particular, it binds toxic substances, viruses, bacteria and their toxic by-products.

Carbo medicinalis “Sanova” tablets are used to treat diarrhoea, particularly when travelling to countries with an increased risk of poor hygiene. The medicinal charcoal is excreted naturally along with the adsorbed harmful substances.

Usage

• Treatment of diarrhoea: The recommended dose for adults, adolescents and children aged 2 years and over is 4 tablets three times a day.
• Method of administration: The tablets may be chewed or swallowed whole with a little liquid. For young children, the tablets should, where possible, be finely crushed and administered with thick or mushy food, preferably without milk or sugar.
• Duration of use: Carbo medicinalis ‘Sanova’ should be taken until bowel movements have returned to normal. If there is no improvement after 3 days, you must consult a doctor.
• Notes: As activated charcoal is excreted unchanged, stools may turn black after taking the medicine. It may be used during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.

• The active ingredient is: 250 mg Carbo adsorbens (medicinal activated charcoal) per tablet.
• The other ingredients are: maltodextrin, hydroxypropyl cellulose, povidone (K25),black iron oxide, magnesium stearate.
