Buscopan® 10 mg coated tablets are an over-the-counter medicine containing the active ingredient hyoscine N-butylbromide. This has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract.
Buscopan 10 mg coated tablets are used to treat mild to
moderate spasms, primarily of the gastrointestinal tract.
If you do not feel any better, or if your condition worsens,
after 3 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use
- The recommended dose for adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age is: Take 1 coated tablet as required. You may take 1 coated tablet several times a day; the maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 coated tablets.
- Children under 6 years of age: Buscopan 10 mg coated tablets are not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age due to their high active ingredient content.
- Method of administration: For oral use. The coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.
- Duration of use: Without medical advice, Buscopan 10 mg coated tablets should not be taken for longer than 3 days.
Ingredients
- What Buscopan contains: The active ingredient is: hyoscine N-butyl bromide. 1 coated tablet contains 10 mg of hyoscine N-butyl bromide.
- The other ingredients are: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, maize starch, soluble starch, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, tartaric acid, stearic acid, povidone, sucrose, talc, gum arabic, macrogol 6000, carnauba wax, white wax, colouring agent: titanium dioxide (E171).
