It was probably the Romans who introduced beetroot to our cultivated landscape. At that time, beetroot was more varied in shape and colour, namely spherical, cylindrical or even elongated; in white, yellow and light red. It was not until the 19th century that the beetroot was bred to the characteristic red colour we know today. Beetroot cultivation also has a long tradition in Thurgau. Numerous organic beetroot varieties grow and thrive in the fertile soils of the Lake Constance region.
Organic farmers from the region deliver the freshly harvested tubers to our factory in Tägerwilen. There, the colourful vegetables are carefully processed into natural Biotta beetroot juice. And what happens after production? - First of all, our entire production facility is scrubbed thoroughly. Because anyone who has ever processed beetroot knows how tedious it can be to wash your hands afterwards. Good for you: with ready-to-drink Biotta beetroot, you are spared the tedious preparation.
