Bios CAL-MAG-BOR capsules are a dietary supplement with calcium citrate, magnesium citrate and bororganic glycine.

Magnesium, calcium and boron are minerals that interact functionally. Magnesium and calcium are required for the maintenance of normal bone structure. Magnesium supports the transport of calcium into the bones and thus promotes bone structure. Boron promotes the binding of calcium and magnesium in the bones. Calcium helps to reduce the loss of bone minerals in post-menopausal women. Low bone mineral density is a risk factor for osteoporotic fractures. Calcium is also required for normal bone growth and development in children. Magnesium also regulates calcium metabolism and ensures efficient absorption of calcium.

Boron plays a role in regulating hormone activity and also promotes the synthesis of vitamin D, which is necessary for calcium absorption. Magnesium and calcium both play a role in the process of cell division and contribute to normal energy metabolism. These minerals support normal muscle function. Magnesium is important for muscle contraction and normal protein synthesis. Magnesium also contributes to the normal function of the nervous system and to normal mental function, while calcium plays a key role in the normal transmission of nerve impulses. Boron acts as a catalyst that optimises the effect of both minerals in muscle and nerve control. Magnesium and calcium also contribute to the maintenance of normal teeth.

Adults: Take 2 x 2 capsules daily with liquid.

• Composition per daily dose (4 capsules) %NRV*: 750 mg calcium citrate corresponding to 157.5 mg pure calcium (19.7 % NRV*), 375 mg magnesium citrate corresponding to 45 mg pure magnesium (12 % NRV*) and 1.66 mg bororganic glycine corresponding to 0.16 mg boron. *NRV = per cent of the recommended daily intake.
