Biatain® Silicone Non-Border Foam Dressing is a highly absorbent dressing for the treatment of various wounds. It promotes healing and protects the wound from infection.
Biatain Silicone Non-Border Foam Dressing combines the proven 3DFit® technology of Biatain foam with full-surface silicone adhesion without an adhesive edge. The gentle, perforated silicone adhesion is located over the entire surface of the dressing and therefore provides a secure hold without sticking to the wound. The semi-permeable, bacteria-repellent top film protects the wound from the outside. The dressing has a 3-part application film for easy and aseptic application.
The unique 3DFit technology
On contact with wound exudate, the foam with 3DFit technology curves towards the wound bed and prevents the accumulation of wound exudate before it occurs. The microcapillary foam structure absorbs the wound exudate vertically and thus ensures optimum healing conditions. The wound exudate is now safely stored in the dressing, even under compression, which reduces the risk of leakage and maceration of the wound edges and the skin surrounding the wound.
- Curvature towards the wound bed to reduce exudate accumulation
- Vertical absorption to protect against maceration and leakage
- High retention capacity even under compression to minimise leakage
Advantages
- Soft and flexible
- Vapour permeable
- With bacteria- and water-repellent top film
- Gentle, perforated, full-surface silicone adhesion
- Minimised risk of leakage and maceration to protect the particularly sensitive skin surrounding the wound through vertical absorption and storage of wound exudate in the dressing
- Curves towards the wound bed to reduce exudate accumulation in cavities
- Atraumatic removal
- High wearing comfort
Areas of application
- Indicated for a wide range of low to highly exuding wounds in patients weighing 40 kg or more
- Including acute wounds such as split skin donor sites, post-operative wounds and traumatic wounds as well as chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure sores and non-infected diabetic foot syndrome
- Can be used in combination with compression therapy
