The Berner HOPI Ear Candles for Adults are a medical device featuring a hard-wax reinforced ear tip and a built-in safety filter. They are manufactured in the tradition of the HOPI INDIANS and make a significant contribution to your well-being.
These ear candles have been extensively tested and used by the Hopi Indians. Our ancestors were also familiar with a product similar to ear candles as a home remedy.
Features
Our Hopi ear candles consist of:
- Wick: pure cotton.
- Wax: wax specially formulated to complement the wick, blended with essential oil.
- Ear tip: hard wax, melting point approx. 90°C Burning time: approx. 15 minutes
Possible uses
Our ear candles have a wide range of uses. They can be used more frequently depending on your needs and how you feel. The ear candles work purely through physical means; the eardrum is massaged by the movement of the flame and the radiating heat contributes to deep relaxation. Each session lasts approximately two 15-minute periods.
Safety features
- Our ear candles are fitted with a safety filter.
- Hard-wax reinforced ear tip. (Prevents the ear candle from becoming misshapen during use)
- Drip-free
- The quality of our ear candles is continuously monitored
Dosage form
Ear candles for adults: Ø approx. 10 mm, L 200 mm
Usage
- The ear candle should not be used alone, but by a therapist or a second person. As a general rule, both ears should always be treated. Have two ear candles, a glass of water, a pair of scissors and some matches to hand. Lie on your side on a treatment couch (see photo). Our ear candles come in two colours. The long part is orange, whilst the short part contains a filter (hard-wax-reinforced ear tip). Caution: Always position the ear candle against the ear with the filter side facing inwards. The therapist lights the orange part with a match or lighter and, with a gentle twisting motion, seals the ear candle against the external auditory canal using the short end containing the filter. They allow the ear candle to burn down to approx. 6 cm or until the light-coloured ear tip is visible, then carefully remove the ear candle from the ear canal and extinguish it in the water provided. They then repeat the same procedure on the other ear. Detailed instructions for use are included with every order.
- Contraindications: Ear candles must not be used if there is a perforation (hole) in the ear or middle ear, or if there are any plastic devices in the ear. To prevent damage and injury, we ask that you follow the instructions for use enclosed with every order carefully. If you have not used ear candles before and are unsure, please consult an ear specialist or therapist.
