Alkaline Powder Petrasch Capsules is a dietary supplement with 600 mg alkaline powder and acidophilus lactic acid bacteria.

The human blood must be in a narrow, slightly alkaline pH range (pH 7.35-7.45) for optimal functioning of all physiological processes in the body. If the pH value is below 7.35, i.e. too acidic, this is called acidosis. In principle, the body restores the acid-base balance very quickly through the buffer system of the blood, through respiration and through excretion via the kidneys. Blood acidosis, where the pH value of the blood falls below 7.35, is a life-threatening metabolic imbalance that requires immediate medical intervention. Latent connective tissue acidosis, which precedes blood acidosis and is not acutely dangerous, places a heavy strain on the alkaline buffering capacity of the tissue. Latent connective tissue acidosis is held responsible for many diseases of civilisation. This is caused by a number of environmental factors, with diet and stress in particular influencing the acid-base balance. Diet is of particular importance as it contains substances that form acids or bases in the body. The Western diet tends to contain more acid formers than alkalis, particularly a diet rich in animal products, especially meat. A balanced diet and supplementation with alkaline food supplements support and facilitate this balancing process.

Petrasch alkaline powder is a balanced mixture of alkaline minerals and Lactobacillus acidophilus. It is available in capsule form and can also be taken by people with taste sensitivities.

The effect of most alkaline powders on the market "fizzles out" in the stomach: the bases are neutralised by the stomach acid. This effect is certainly desirable for acute heartburn. However, it is not desirable for balancing the acid-base balance. In addition, the neutralisation of stomach acid stimulates the formation of additional stomach acid, which is generally undesirable. By using our innovative acid-resistant capsules, the capsule contents are only released in the intestine. This maximises its effectiveness.

Like all Petrasch products, Petrasch alkalising powder acts as a system. The zinc it contains also contributes to a normal acid-base metabolism.

Ingredients and effect

  • Alkaline minerals: Sodium hydrogen carbonate, potassium hydrogen carbonate, calcium L(+)-lactate, calcium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium citrate, calcium citrate and zinc citrate are alkaline minerals.
  • Lactobacillus Acidophilus belongs to the lactic acid bacteria. This bacterium occurs naturally in the intestines and mucous membranes.
  • Zinc contributes to a normal acid-base metabolism. It contributes to the normal function of the immune system and protects cells from oxidative stress. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, hair and nails. It contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood and to normal fertility and reproduction. Zinc contributes to normal carbohydrate and fatty acid metabolism. It also contributes to normal cognitive function.
