Smoking cessation and reduction of the craving for nicotine in smokers who are willing to stop smoking. The aim of treatment with Asmoken is to permanently stop using or consuming nicotine-containing products.

Asmoken works thanks to ^cytisine1 - It weans you off nicotine and alleviates withdrawal symptoms

Cytisine increases the dopamine level in the brain and thus alleviates withdrawal symptoms.
Cytisine and nicotine compete for the same nicotine receptors.
Due to its high affinity to the target receptors, cytisine gradually displaces nicotine.
The result = fewer receptors occupied by nicotine.
Reduction in the craving for nicotine.
At the end of the treatment (25 days), cytisine is excreted from the body and the patient does not feel a craving for nicotine.

¹ Cytisine is a plant alkaloid from laburnum seeds.

The mode of action requires a strict treatment regimen

One pack of Asmoken contains 100 tablets.
One pack is sufficient for the entire treatment.
Smoking must be stopped on the 5th day of treatment at the latest, as otherwise side effects may increase.
The customer therefore saves cigarette costs for 20 days while taking Asmoken (at 20 cigarettes per day = €120 ^savings2 - ² Example: 20 cigarettes (1 pack) per day: 20 days of non-smoking x €6/pack and day = €120 savings).

How to use

One pack of Asmoken (100 tablets) is sufficient for a full course of treatment. The duration of treatment is 25 days. Asmoken is an oral medicine. The tablets are taken with a sufficient amount of water according to the following schedule.

Only for adults between 18 and 65 years of age:

From the 1st to the 3rd day: 1 tablet every 2 hours 6 tablets
From the 4th to the 12th day: 1 tablet every 2 1/2 hours 5 tablets
From day 13 to 16: 1 tablet every 3 hours 4 tablets
From day 17 to 20: 1 tablet every 5 hours 3 tablets
From day 21 to 25: 1-2 tablets per day up to 2 tablets

Smoking must be stopped on the 5th day of treatment at the latest. Smoking must be discontinued during treatment, otherwise side effects will increase. In the event of treatment failure, treatment must be discontinued and can be resumed after 2 to 3 months.

Advice:

If you have taken a larger amount of Asmoken than you should: If you overdose on Asmoken, the symptoms of nicotine poisoning may occur. Symptoms of overdose include feeling unwell, nausea, vomiting, rapid pulse, blood pressure fluctuations, breathing difficulties, blurred vision or seizures. If you experience any of these symptoms or any other symptoms not described in this leaflet, stop taking Asmoken and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you have forgotten to take Asmoken: Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take the previous dose.

Ingredients

What Asmoken contains: The active substance is cytisine. One tablet contains 1.5 mg cytisine.
The other ingredients are: Mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, glycerol dibehenate, hypromellose.
