What is the purpose of the Alegro® bi-elastic alginate adhesive bandage? It is used in acute decongestive therapy. Due to the improved "glue" and its bielasticity, it offers a unique possibility of pressure regulation and thus an optimal causal therapy. Due to the easier application technique and the ability to compress without wrinkles even in difficult anatomical conditions, there is a significant reduction in pain during therapy. This in turn leads to greater patient acceptance. Compression therapy Well-applied compression therapy can only be effective if the patient is still as mobile as possible. Compression therapy is the mainstay in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, including venous leg ulcers. Another important indication is lymphoedema and lipoedema. By squeezing out the oedema, microcirculation can be improved, allowing the tissue defect to heal. Application

Before applying the bandage, the wound is covered with a non-adhesive wound dressing. The bandage is then applied in a circular pattern with approximately four overlapping layers. Two additional layers are wrapped over the wound. The dressing is then protected by a jersey tube to prevent soiling of clothing. Before removing the dressing, it is softened with lukewarm water to make it easier to unwind. The Alegro® - bi-elastic alginate adhesive bandage can be used in primary therapy to reduce oedema, as the product has a high working pressure and a low resting pressure.
