Aknichthol® Lotio is an acne remedy to be applied to the skin. Aknichthol® Lotio is used to reduce the number of comedones in mild and moderate acne vulgaris.

It contains sulphonated shale oil (sodium bituminosulphonate (ICHTYOL® sodium), light-coloured) and inhibits the increased formation of sebum ('oily skin'), has an anti-inflammatory and mild bactericidal effect. Salicylic acid supports the absorption of ICHTYOL® light into the skin through its pH-lowering effect.

Aknichthol® Lotio is used to reduce the number of comedones in mild and moderate acne vulgaris.

Hormonal fluctuations, but also the use of medication (e.g. the pill) can trigger acne. It mainly occurs on the chest, back and face. The cause is impaired skin cell formation, which leads to the exit of the hair follicle becoming blocked. Sebum and pus formed by acne bacteria cannot drain away. The sebaceous gland bulges and blackheads or pustules appear. Action must be taken quickly in order to avoid a long course of the disease and the subsequent formation of acne scars.

Directions for use

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, AKNICHTHOL - Lotio should be used twice daily. Twice daily, morning and evening, cleanse the affected skin areas using a soap-free skin cleanser and dry carefully.
Method of application: Shake the bottle well, apply approx. 20 drops of the lotio to a swab and spread evenly over the skin so that the affected skin areas are lightly covered. In the beard area, apply the lotion in the direction of the beard growth. Eyelids and lips should not be treated.
Duration of application: The duration of treatment depends on the type and extent of the disease. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the maximum duration of treatment should be 12 weeks.
Use in children: There are no data available on use in children.

Ingredients

The active ingredients are sodium bituminosulphonate (Ichthyol® sodium), light and salicylic acid in an aqueous alcoholic base.
100 g suspension contains: 1.0 g sodium bituminosulphonate (Ichthyol® sodium), light-coloured and 0.5 g salicylic acid.
The other ingredients are Highly dispersed silicon dioxide, lauromacrogol 200, 2-propanol, maize starch, medium-chain triglycerides, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxides and iron(III) hydroxide oxide (E 172), purified water.
