Activon Tube is ideal for debridement of necrotic tissue or for replenishing dressings where honey has been washed away by exudate. Activon Tube contains 100 % medicinal manuka honey, which creates a moist wound environment, effectively eliminates wound odour and has an antibacterial effect at the same time. The practical 20 g tube can be kept for 90 days after opening.

Areas of application

For use on wound dressings impregnated with Activon Honey or as a wound filler directly on the wound bed for wounds of partial or full thickness, including

• Scab wounds
• pressure ulcers
• surgical wounds
• burns
• Graft sites
• Foul smelling wounds

Contraindications: Known allergy to bee venom/honey.

How to use

• Ensure that the wound has been cleaned.
• Gently dry the surrounding skin.
• Remove the sterile tube from the box.
• Twist off the cap.
• Apply generously to the wound bed (surface or cavity).
• Cover with a suitable secondary dressing.
• For single patient use only.
• Store at room temperature.
• Once opened, use within 90 days.

Initially there may be heavy exudate formation. This is completely normal and will subside over time. Therefore, your secondary dressing should possibly be a superabsorbent dressing at first. We recommend Eclypse .

Top tip: Use Activon Tube together with Algivon for debridement and scab removal.
