ALLEVYN AG HEEL is an absorbent, antimicrobial foam dressing for the treatment of secondary healing, chronic and acute deep, shallow and superficial granulating and exuding wounds, on problem areas such as heel, scrotum, etc.

ALLEVYN AG HEEL is a highly absorbent, antimicrobial wound dressing. The special shape is designed for easy treatment of problem areas such as heels, elbows, amputation stumps, toes and testicles. The absorbent foam core with integrated silver supports the treatment of infection-prone and infected wounds with moderate to heavy exudation.

Mode of action

ALLEVYN Ag Heel can be used on infected wounds. If the product is used on infected wounds, the wounds should be treated according to the local treatment protocol. Contraindications Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to silver sulfadiazine or sulfonamides. As sulphonamides are considered a possible cause of kernicterus, ALLEVYN Ag Heel should not be used on breastfeeding mothers, women at or near term, premature babies or newborns in the first months of life.

The dressing is an effective barrier against microbial contamination and protects the wound against invasive pathogenic microorganisms. This supports faster healing. SSD is effective against microorganisms found in the dressing and in the wound. In the case of exuding wounds, the dressing helps to maintain an ideally moist wound environment.

Ingredients

Non-adherent antimicrobial wound dressing made of polyurethane foam. ALLEVYN Ag Heel consists of an absorbent hydrocellular polyurethane foam containing silver sulphadiazine (SSD) embedded between a perforated, non-adherent wound contact layer and a waterproof, breathable outer film.
