ACTICOAT FLEX antimicrobial wound dressings with silver are used to treat infected or infection-prone acute and chronic wounds, such as leg ulcers, pressure sores, diabetic ulcers, burns and explantation sites.

The porous surface structure enables a long-lasting release of silver into the wound. ACTICOAT promotes an ideally moist wound environment and has been proven to release sufficient silver in a constant concentration to have a bactericidal effect.

Properties

  • Fast-acting: bactericidal effectiveness after just 30 minutes1-3
  • Flexible and conformable
  • Long-lasting effect: Long-lasting antimicrobial effect for up to 7 days, bactericidal effect for 3 days5,6
  • Broad spectrum of efficacy: Also effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including MRSA, VRE4,5

  • Adapts very well to the wound bed
  • Allows exudate to drain away very well thanks to the open-mesh structure

Dosage form

Wound dressing

Application

  • For dry or only slightly weeping wounds, moisten with e.g. distilled water or INTRASITE◊ GEL.
  • If necessary, cut to the appropriate wound size.
  • Apply a suitable secondary dressing (e.g. ALLEVYN◊).
  • Do not combine with oily substances.
  • Do not apply directly to exposed tendons, bones or organs
