Product information "3M™ INADINE™ PVP-Iodine Wound Dressing 9.5 x 9.5 cm"
The Inadine wound dressing is a low-adherent, woven viscose fabric impregnated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) and contains 10% povidone-iodine - equivalent to 1.0% available iodine.
How does it work?
The Inadine dressing is designed to protect wounds, even if they are infected. It has a long-lasting antimicrobial effect against bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses, including multi-resistant bacteria MRSA.
The Inadine wound dressing minimises adhesion to the wound bed and thus reduces the risk of damage to the granulation tissue during dressing removal. In clinical practice, this has been proven to reduce patient pain.
As the PVP-I content decreases, the dressing changes colour from orange to white. This colour change indicates how often the product should be changed. This avoids unnecessary dressing changes compared to other products. As a result, treatments can be carried out more cost-effectively.
The Inadine wound dressing is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds and can also be used to prevent infection in the case of
- Minor burns/abrasions
- Skinning
- Traumatic injuries with skin loss

Wound preparation
- Open the sterile packaging and remove the INADINE™ dressing using sterile tweezers.
- Remove the first protective paper.
- Remove the dressing from the remaining protective paper and apply it directly to the wound.
- Cover and secure the dressing with a suitable secondary dressing.
Changing the dressing
It is essential for successful wound therapy to avoid damaging the intact skin.
- If INADINE® Wound Dressing fades, this is a sign that its antiseptic effect is diminishing and it should be changed. At the beginning or in the case of heavily infected or heavily exuding wounds, the dressing can be changed up to twice a day.
- When changing the dressing, the INADINE® dressing can be removed more easily if it is stretched slightly at the diagonally opposite corners and then removed from the wound.
