3MTM CavilonTM Non-irritant Skin Protection consists of a terpolymer composition that provides a long-lasting, flexible barrier to protect the wound edge/wound environment from moisture and body fluids as well as friction and to protect against skin injuries caused by medical adhesives.
3M Cavilon non-irritant skin protection reliably protects the skin from fluids and irritants for up to 72 hours. The clinically tested skin protection is applied thinly as a liquid using a foam applicator, dries quickly and leaves behind a wafer-thin, breathable acrylate terpolymer film. 3M Cavilon non-irritant skin protection is ideal for stoma therapy and incontinence treatment.

Dosage form

Application
Ideal for protecting larger areas, e.g. the buttocks in the case of incontinence.
Instructions for use:
- Clean the skin and dry thoroughly.
- apply 3M Cavilon non-irritant skin protection evenly to the desired area, holding the spray 10 to 15 cm away from the skin.
- allow to dry for 30 to 60 seconds, keep skin folds apart until completely dry.
- Apply a maximum of 2 coats of 3M Cavilon Non Irritant Skin Protection on top of each other.
- Do not use together with creams, lotions or moisturising washing solutions.
- only reapply 3M Cavilon non-irritant skin protection every 2-3 days or under adhesive dressings at each dressing change.
Notes:
- Adhesive materials (e.g. base plates) adhere excellently to 3M Cavilon Non Irritant Skin Protection.
- 3M Cavilon Non Irritant Skin Protection does not interfere with absorbent or draining incontinence aids.
- 3M Cavilon non-irritant skin protection does not need to be removed as it dissolves with the body's own skin fat after approx. 72 hours without leaving any residue.
- 3M Cavilon non-irritant skin protection can also be dissolved with oily substances or most medical adhesive removers.
