How do zirkulin stomach chewable tablets work?

Acidic stomach contents flow into the oesophagus. The protective lining of the oesophagus is damaged and irritated, resulting in heartburn. Chewing the chewable tablets releases the active ingredients, allowing them to take full effect. Once in the stomach, seaweed extracts form a stable protective layer on contact with the stomach acid. This protective layer floats on top of the stomach contents and forms an effective barrier between the stomach contents and the sphincter muscle leading to the oesophagus. • Chew the tablet thoroughly before swallowing.
• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take 2 to 4 tablets after meals and before going to bed when symptoms occur. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 16 tablets. When taken in accordance with these instructions, the product is generally considered safe for use by pregnant and breastfeeding women; however, it is advisable to consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication.
