ratioDolor® acute ibuprofen 300 mg painkillers are a non-prescription medicine containing the active ingredient: ibuprofen. The tablets are used to treat pain conditions such as headaches, toothache, muscle pain, etc.

The analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect of ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets is mainly due to the inhibition of the production of certain tissue hormones (prostaglandins), which inhibits the development of inflammation and pain.

Ibuprofen as a lysine salt is characterised by good water solubility (20 %). The even distribution of the dissolved substance on the mucous membrane causes the active ingredient ibuprofen to be rapidly absorbed into the blood in the digestive tract. The ingested amount of ibuprofen reaches its destination almost completely. Blood levels and pain relief are directly related to each other. The highest active levels of ibuprofen in the blood are reached around 30-45 minutes after ingestion. 99% of the protein is bound in the blood. Ibuprofen is broken down in the liver; excretion takes place within 24 hours, mainly via the kidneys, but also via the bile.

ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg painkillers are used:

• For pain conditions such as headaches, toothache, muscle pain, joint pain, menstrual cramps and pain and fever associated with colds and flu-like infections.
• For the treatment of the acute headache phase of migraines with and without aura and for the treatment of tension headaches.

ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets are used in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over. If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 to 4 days, consult your doctor.

How to use

• A maximum daily dose of 4 ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets should not be exceeded in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over. The daily dose should be divided into 3 or more single doses.
• For children aged 6 to 11 years, the recommended maximum daily dose is 2 ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets. If necessary, ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets can be divided (for example ½ tablet up to 4 times a day). May only be given to children under 12 years of age with a doctor's prescription.
• If the use of this medicine in children and adolescents is necessary for more than 3 days or if the symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted.
• Duration of use: ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets should not be taken for more than 3 - 4 consecutive days without medical advice.
• Route of administration: Oral use. ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets should be taken whole with or after meals with plenty of liquid. ratioDolor acute ibuprofen 300 mg pain tablets should be taken during meals if you have a sensitive stomach.

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is: Ibuprofen. 1 film-coated tablet contains 500 mg ibuprofen lysine salt (equivalent to 292.6 mg ibuprofen).
• The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, talc, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose, macrogol, glycerol.
