How vitamin B6 is connected to your psyche

One such amino acid is homocysteine, which is produced when protein is metabolised and is broken down quite quickly with the help of vitamin B6 and excreted via the kidneys. A vitamin B6 deficiency leads to impaired remethylation of homocysteine, which results in an increase in plasma homocysteine.

This makes it clear how important vitamin B6 is for homocysteine metabolism. In addition, a healthy psyche needs B6 - the vitamin also plays a role in the normal function of the nervous system, contributes to normal psychological function and is involved in the regulation of hormone activity.
