Natural carotenoid from ripe tomatoes

Lycopene is the natural red colouring in tomatoes. It is synthesised by the plant to protect it from harmful environmental influences, among other things. Like beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, the secondary plant substance is a carotenoid. The bioavailability of the natural carotenoid lycopene can be increased by adding oils, which is particularly useful in dietetics. The body's ability to absorb carotenoids depends on the proportion of different fatty acids in the diet. Lycopene is found in the human organism primarily in the adrenal glands, liver, testicles and prostate.

Lycopene 20 mg from Pure Encapsulations® contains lycopene from tomato extract - encapsulated and dissolved in a base of rice bran oil.
